Wednesday 23rd July:

Yesterday i fell asleep on the bus and a very small brown boy put his little troll hand on my shoulder and said, "Wake up, mister, you're on the bus!" He was far too little to have any concept of "if you don't pull that cord in time, the bus driver won't know where to stop and you will end up far from your house", it was simply the delight of being on a great big noisy fast smelly bouncy bus, and seeing other busses, and that I was missing the sensation. I want to have little brown children with troll hands

I am the jaywalking king. People often call me Jaywal King, for short. I avoid interrupting a nice cheery flow of traffic for the sake of one insignificant pedestrian - it is tradition to weave with utmost care through peak flow, without incident. |Diversion:| This morning I saw a man get knocked off his bike, and I thought 'poor bugger, was just doing his bit to ease the traffic and some botch fahce in a car knocks him over.' |Back to the story:| I crossed half-way across Vivian St today, under a Dont Cross sign, with a me-sized gap between a taxi and a cranky-faced commuter in my sites. And then the most anti-climatic thing happened! The taxi slowed to a stop at the lights and let me cross without fuss. (nice taxi)

also yesterday, I arranged to meet Allahn for tea and/or wedges at the Krazy Lounge at the time of lunch. To my delight (veritable, it was), Al had recruited friends, and friends of friends. Kyle drives a Pulsar so hard he recently lost his license for several months. He finds the police to be Quite Unfair, but is quietly pleased to have 3 months to paint, fit a bodykit to, and install a GTiR in his twin-piped (how?!) baby. Despite these things, he was a good and enjoyable fellow, a remarkable suprise. Also met the bootilicious Kim, Hawke's Bay local, let's see if we can't get her roadtripping up there with us one time.

The hit-and-miss edgy youth show Space has a competition finishing tomorrow: to design the cover for an Xbox game. I knocked together a few entries, it would be nice to win a translucent green limited edition Xbox (and sell it for like, 150 pots of tea). Entries, in descending favoritism:
  1. Extreme Sitting 3
  2. Meteorology Challenge
  3. Tell It To The Judge
  4. Name That Font
  5. Space (nz) Invaders
